We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Waiter
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
To provide efficient, courteous, and professional food and beverage service to guests in accordance with the hotel’s service standards, while ensuring guest satisfaction and a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with restaurant setup before service and closing procedures after service.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and report unresolved issues to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Welcome and attend to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Ensure all service equipment, cutlery, crockery, glassware, and other items are clean and properly arranged.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, rules, and standards at all times.
- Check on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and respond promptly to additional requests.
- Attend departmental briefings, training sessions, and meetings as required.
- Process bills and payments accurately where required and follow established cash-handling procedures.
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Supervisor, F&B Manager, or Management.
- Present menus, explain available food and beverage options, and provide recommendations when required.
- Maintain proper knowledge of the hotel’s food and beverage menus, promotions, prices, and service procedures.
- Report damaged equipment, shortages, maintenance issues, or other operational concerns to the Supervisor.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly after guests have finished dining.
- Upsell food and beverage items appropriately to maximize guest satisfaction and departmental revenue.
- Handle hotel property, equipment, food, beverages, and guest belongings responsibly.
- Enter orders correctly into the appropriate system/POS and communicate special requests or dietary requirements to the kitchen.
- Maintain a professional appearance and comply with the hotel’s grooming and uniform standards.
- Take guests’ food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
- Serve food and beverages according to established hotel service standards.
- Comply with all food safety, hygiene, HACCP, health and safety regulations and hotel standards.
- Ensure all guest requests are attended to promptly and professionally.
- Work effectively with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of the restaurant, dining areas, service stations, and assigned work areas.

- Be attentive, responsive, and proactive in identifying guest needs.
