About the job
Operate and monitor engines to ensure smooth, safe, and reliable operations; record operating parameters and maintain accurate shift reports for running and switching activities; conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring engine trips and support corrective actions; and conduct risk assessments with colleagues before undertaking inspections and maintenance activities.
What you'll be doing
Conduct risk assessment for all switching operations
Start, run and stop operations of engines.
Maintain housekeeping of workshop.
Carry out any engine fitting jobs.
Maintain hourly records of engine running parameters and report any sharp deviations on the reading to section engineers and managers.
Participate in RCA for generator failures and implement action plans.
Train/coach one Trainee on Engines operation
Conduct 1st level inspection and capture any abnormal condition.
Requirements
- Experience handling emergency situations and equipment isolation while following PTW, LOTO, and power plant safety procedures.
- Experience identifying and responding to equipment abnormalities, trips, leaks, vibration, pressure, and temperature deviations.
- Experience with basic mechanical maintenance, lubrication, equipment inspection, and fault reporting.
- OND or Grade3 trade test and
- Experience performing plant start-up, shutdown, equipment changeover, and routine operational monitoring.
- Minimum 3 Years’ post qualification experience.
- Hands-on experience operating steam turbines, boilers, generators, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary systems.
