Job Title: Assistant Teacher
Location: Chevron, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, responsible and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to support the classroom teacher in providing a safe, engaging and effective learning environment for pupils.
The successful candidate will assist with classroom activities, lesson preparation, pupil supervision and general classroom management while supporting the academic and developmental needs of pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform other duties assigned by the class teacher or school management.
- Monitor pupils’ behaviour and support the implementation of the school’s classroom management procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching aids, worksheets and other instructional materials.
- Support pupils in developing good behaviour, social skills, independence and positive learning habits.
- Assist with marking classwork, homework and other learning activities as directed by the class teacher.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of staff.
- Help maintain an organised, clean and stimulating classroom environment.
- Supervise pupils during lessons, break periods, school activities and transitions between classes.
- Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering classroom lessons and learning activities.
- Help maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance and pupils’ work.
- Support pupils during individual and group learning activities.
- Assist with school events, extracurricular activities and other programmes as required.
- Provide additional support to pupils who may require individual attention.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils while under their supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding pupils, parents and school-related information.
