Job descriptions & requirements
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with required standards.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
- Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review the work progress on a daily basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Liaising with the client, other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public
- Review engineering surveys for the selected roads and other structures
- Make any necessary changes to the design drawings as per the site conditions.
- Review the work programmes, resource, schedule, and project implementation plans
- Ensure compliance with the work plans and complete the work within the specified time frame.
- Assess and evaluate performance and resources.
- Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project (or a package),
- Ensuring that specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress.
- Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety
Requirements
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of road construction with the construction of concrete drains, culverts, paved roads etc,
- B.Eng. in civil engineering
- Ability to use surveying instruments and interpret survey data.
