Eastern Plains Integrated Farms Limited is an integrated Farm situated in Igbariam, Anambra state. We are presently focused on poultry production but have plans in place to expand into other areas of Agriculture.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Head, Chicken Processing Plant
Location: Anambra
Job type: Full-time
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving production performance, profitability, food safety, quality, maintenance effectiveness, workforce productivity, and continuous improvement.
We are seeking an experienced Head, Chicken Processing Plant to provide strategic and operational leadership across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, plant improvement, and capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, biosecurity standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead end-to-end plant operations covering slaughtering, defeathering, evisceration, chilling, cut-up, packaging, storage, and dispatch.
- Manage cold-chain operations, inventory accuracy, product integrity, and distribution activities.
- Lead Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering amp; Maintenance, Cold Chain, Warehouse, and Dispatch functions.
- Analyse plant performance and prepare reports covering production, yield, quality, maintenance, safety, costs, and financial performance for management.
- Develop and execute operational plans while ensuring production schedules and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
- Drive yield improvement, waste reduction, productivity, throughput, and cost optimisation across processing operations.
- Develop and manage plant budgets, monitor operating costs, and implement profitability and cost-reduction initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality management, poultry processing, HACCP, and GMP.
- HACCP, GMP, Food Safety Management, or Poultry Meat Processing certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in poultry processing or food manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a senior plant/processing leadership role.
- Strong leadership, business acumen, decision-making, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Food Technology, Poultry Science, Agriculture, Food Science amp; Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing large-scale chicken processing operations, budgets, large workforces, and multiple departments.
