Job Title: HSE / IT Officer
Location: Oron, Akwa Ibom
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting health, safety, and environmental compliance while providing effective IT support to ensure smooth business operations.
Virgin Forest Energy Limited is seeking a competent, proactive, and detail-oriented HSE/IT Officer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain IT asset records and support employees with technical challenges.
- Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSE regulations and company safety standards.
- Troubleshoot IT issues and ensure the proper functioning of the company's IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical support for computer systems, software, printers, networks, and other IT equipment.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Organise safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness exercises.
- Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation.
- Assist with system maintenance, data backup, cybersecurity, and access control.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and pay attention to detail.
- Previous experience in HSE management and IT support is desirable.
- Relevant HSE certification(s) and IT training or certifications will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment, and incident reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general IT systems.
