We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Instrumentation and Control Engineer
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Responsibilities
Instrumentation, Control and Automation:
Manage the engineering documents in your discipline through the document control system (MDR/TQ/RFI tracking).
Size and select field instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, level, analytical), control valves, PSVs, and actuated valves.
Enforce HSE, quality on all assigned activities.
Support integration of packaged unit control systems with the main plant control system.
Coordinate and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Develop and review instrumentation design deliverables: P&ID inputs, instrument index, datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, JB schedules, I/O lists, cause & effect diagrams, and control system architecture drawings.
Provide site engineering support for instrument installation, tubing, cabling, terminations, and grounding.
Develop Instrument Datasheet and System Architecture as well as Bill of Materials
Support man-hour estimates, progress reporting, and management of scope changes.
Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL assessment, and constructability reviews.
Supervise loop checks, calibration, functional testing, and pre-commissioning activities.
Support commissioning and start-up, punch list closure, and handover documentation.
Define functional requirements Documents for DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD/SIS, and Fire & Gas systems.
Prepare as-built documentation and turnover packages.
Ensure design compliance with hazardous area classification and protection requirements.
Field Instrument Integration and Panel Installation Supervision
System Integration Services
Project Design:
Develops and supervise the draughting of Drawings for Specific Projects.
Develops Bill of Quantities for Projects from shop drawings and from Consultant / Clients drawings for purpose of tendering.
Project Planning:
Prepares Budget and time schedules for Projects.
Prepares Project Design Drawings, Shop Drawings and “As Built Drawing.
Reads and understands Contract Documents.
Ensure Proper handling of Company Tools and Equipment as well as Maintenance.
Project/Site Coordination:
Support Commercial Departments for inputs in Tendering with relevant inputs.
Supervise the Technician and Sub Contractors on site during Installation.
Delegates authority and ensures subordinates are adequately engaged.
Provides Technical Evaluation of Sub-contractors and commercial inputs.
Ensures cordial relationships with Clients.
Ensures compliance with and implementation of Quality Control procedure for all incoming materials.
Attends site meetings with Clients and other Contractors on site.
Requirements
- Experience working with international clients and IOCs/NOCs is highly desirable.
- Membership of COREN, NSE or Relevant Professional Body will be of added advantage.
- B.Eng/B.Sc in Instrumentation and Control, Electrical/Electronics.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Power Point, Visio, PDF; knowledge of use of AutoCAD will be of added advantage.
- Minimum 10 years post qualification experience in the Oil and Gas Sector and/or Power Transmission/Distribution Sector.
- Experience with upstream, midstream, or downstream facilities (flow stations, gas plants, pipelines, terminals, refineries, or offshore platforms).
