Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Mathematics instruction to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, while preparing pupils for Common Entrance, Secondary School Entrance, Checkpoint and other external examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning:
- Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging and differentiated Mathematics lessons.
- Prepare Year 6 pupils adequately for Common Entrance, Secondary School Entrance and other external examinations.
- Use appropriate teaching strategies to support pupils with different learning needs.
- Teach Mathematics effectively to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils in line with the school's curriculum.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, schemes of work and teaching materials.
- Break down complex mathematical concepts into simple, practical and understandable lessons.
- Assessment and Academic Support:
- Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate intervention and support.
- Monitor pupils' academic progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate academic and assessment records.
- Conduct regular assessments through classwork, homework, tests and mock examinations.
- Participate in parents' meetings and communicate pupils' progress effectively.
- Classroom Management:
- Foster pupils' confidence, participation and interest in Mathematics.
- Maintain effective classroom discipline and encourage positive behaviour.
- Create a positive, stimulating and well-organised learning environment.
- Professional Duties:
- Participate in staff meetings, training and school activities.
- Collaborate with other teachers and school management to improve academic outcomes.
- Prepare teaching resources independently and ensure lesson materials are personally developed and not AI-generated.
- Support the school's academic goals and uphold all school policies.
- Qualifications and Experinece
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Strong track record of preparing pupils for Common Entrance and other external examinations, with demonstrable results.

- B.Ed / B.Sc in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a related field.
