Job Summary
A history of achieving consistent Hatching results
The ability to extract maximum performance from Hatchery equipment
The ability to build relationships together with a coaching, training, and mentoring mindset where appropriate
Demonstrable, advanced knowledge and skills within the Hatchery environment
We are looking for a Hatchery professional who has a minimum of 5 – 6 years of experience in Commercial Hatchery operation and management, and a good understanding of various Hatchery machines like EMKA, INDIAN, VET 7, etc. Key deliverables will revolve around actively managing and coordinating personnel, production, and equipment. The candidate we are pursuing is someone with:
Key Accountabilities
- The incumbent of this position will be responsible for managing the Hatchery’s Day operations, by producing day-old chicks at the correct quantity and quality at the lowest cost:
- Managing and coordinating hatchery activities
- Monitoring facility equipment, repairs, and maintenance
- Manage and maintain weekly hatch schedules
- Ensure that all bio-security standards and procedures are in place and are strictly adhered to
- Direct supervision of employees
- Health and Safety
- Planning of:
- Hatch
- Set plan
- Transfer
- Orders and Loading of Trucks
- Egg plan
Requirements
- Excellent Communication and People Skills
- Ability to solve problems and take corrective action
- Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences/ Agriculture Science (Animal Production).
- 5-6 years of experience in Managing and handling a state-of-the-art Commercial Hatchery.
- Strong leadership and managerial competencies
- Understanding of Poultry Physiology and Embryology
- Hatchery Maintenance
- Knowledge of Hatchery Operations
- Attention to detail with a systematic, methodical approach
- Computer literate:
